Active Involvement of children, young people & familiesThe Children's Trust values the involvement of children, young people and families in decision making and shaping services. To ensure this is undertaken properly, and to be consistent and meaningful, the Trust have endorsed an Active Involvement Strategy. This was updated in May 2010 and is available under the Related Documents section to the right of this page.
It is recognised that there are many forums of good practice already happening around the county, and it is intended through the strategy to broaden and build on these so that involvement of children, young people and their families is possible, is inclusive and accessible to all.
The Trust is now working to embed involvement within practice, so it isn't just added on to current work, and will help contribute to every child and young person being able to achieve their full potential. It will also mean the Trust is able to make best use of resources by centrally recording consultation and involvement to avoid duplication.
As stated throughout the Every Child Matters documentation, the voice and influence of children, young people and families is paramount in ensuring services are being developed and delivered to meet the ever-changing needs of children and young people.
This agenda is all about children and young people and we will strive to ensure they lead the way in this work. Check out the links on the right hand side of this page to see other sites on involvement.
