Involvement

Cornwall Children's Trust has agreed an Active Involvement Strategy to ensure that children and young people have the opportunity to be involved in decisions about the services they receive.

Listening to children & young people and acting on their voices is EVERYONE'S responsibility!  The following information outlines the key ways in which children & young people in Cornwall can contribute their views across the Children's Trust.

Cornwall's Members of Youth Parliament (MYP) now have their own page on Facebook.

They want as many young people in Cornwall between the ages of 13 & 19 to 'like' their page.

The Voice, Influence & Participation (VIP) Group....
has been endorsed by the Children's Leadership Group as Cornwall's mechanism for young people to link with adult decision makers at a strategic level.  Read more about the VIP Group here.

Locality Young People's Communication Events....
are one of the mechanisms we have chosen to use in Cornwall in order to develop a comprehensive and carefully considered approach to systematically gather the voices of young people in a sustainable way on a local level.

Participation at the Children's Leadership Group (CLG)...
enables groups of children & young people to present their ideas on a quarterly basis to ensure the voice of vulnerable children & young people is heard loud and clear at a strategic level. More information is available on the Participation at CLG page.

Quality Standards for Participation
Cornwall has endorsed a variety of quality standards to suit different services with support and advice on hand to help you get started. 

Young Media Champions
Did you know that there is a group of young people trained as ‘Media Champions’ (part of the south-west ‘Sounds Positive’ project) who are working in their localities to promote the positive image of young people in their communities?  You can get in contact with your nearest young media champion through Mary Ann Bloomfield.

Children's Spokespersons...
Cornwall Councillors in each community network area have been nominated as a children's spokesperson. Read more here
